Hello everyone. My name is Valerio, I'm an Italian male student of 26 years old with an uncommon passion for videogames and I still have to find a female specimen of my own race to share my World of Warcraft adventures with.

Please explain why you chose your Class and Race combination, and what talent builds you use.

My main character is a Draenei Death Knight focused on delivering any kind of pain on living and unliving creatures with a Frost-based talent build.
I've chosen this combination for 3 reasons basically: 1) Lore-wise, I like Death Knights and love the idea of these people seeking for vengeance on Arthas. 2) Draenei Heroic Presence racial lowers the 295.11 Melee Hit Rating cap required for melee classes to 262.32, allowing me to be a bit more flexible with armor choices. 3) I like Frost much more than Unholy, due to its priority-based (and thus more dynamic) combat style.

How much end-game raid experience do you have? What bosses have you found particularly hard or easy to defeat? What was/is your favorite raid encounter?

I've switched to DK as soon as WotLK was out, so I've cleared every content of patch 3.0, had a pause when Ulduar came out and came back for Trial of the Champion/ICC. My ICC experience is 10/12 10-man (although I brought Sindy at 10-15% many times and never managed to kill her) and 8/12 25-man. I also managed to get to the 2nd phase of Halion, but trying to kill him with PUGs is just like asking a Chinese not to sell gold on Trade channel. My favourites encounters are Malygos, Sapphiron and Sindragosa.

Which other guilds have you been in? Why did you leave them?

I've been in Vicious Kittens back in patch 3.0, I left them because, at that time, they had a guild leader whose conducting was disputable. Recently I joined eon but they stopped raiding so I had to leave them as well and I've been guildless since (about 2 months).

What add-ons do you use when you are raiding?

Omen, Deadly Boss Mods, Recount, Power Auras, DocsUINameplates

Do you currently use Vent or another voice-chat solution? Do you communicate well in English?

I use Teamspeak, Ventrilo and Mumble. I'm not very fluent when speaking English, so I just listen whenever I'm on voice-chat.

Will you be able to attend the majority of raids when required? i.e. Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday. Will you be able to stay until the end of the raid? i.e. 9pm until Midnight Server Time.

Yes, I should be able to attend to all of them, thanks to your starting time, with some exceptions on Sunday nights. I can stay till 2:00-3:00am ST if required.

What in-game professions have you selected and what level are they? Why did you choose these?

I chose Blacksmithing and Mining, both at 450. I picked these because I want to be self-sufficient with plate pieces or weapons and I can help any guildies in need at the same time. I had to choose Mining when I created Witherly because I had no high-level alts on this server, at that time.

Do you have any alts? What class and level are they? Are they on this server?

I have a lvl 80 T-9 Holy Paladin plus some 70ish alts including a Shaman, a Mage, a Rogue and a Hunter. All on this server.

Do you know any of our existing members?

Yesterday I had a random heroic with Goretex who suggested me to apply here. Yeah, he also warned me that you're full on DKs but no harm done in trying, right?

What are your best and worst qualities as a player on World of Warcraft?

I think my best qualities as WoW player are the virulent hatred for gnomes (sometimes even dwarves) and patience: I've no fear of spending a whole night wiping, assumed that doesn't happen because people didn't know tactics (which happened 90% of the times I've pugged in the last weeks... Oh, the humanity!). My worst quality as a WoW player is the total lack of a decent tanking proficiency.

Its a nice application - you have good gear and experience

Just for your information though the soft cap for dual weild Dk's is actually 164 since you have Nerves of Cold Steel (hard cap is 27% but thats never gonna happen :wink:

) and as far as I'm aware the melee hit cap for 2H users is 263 (without a draenei in the group) so with a draenei its 230 in theory however since DK's use spells its worth keeping the 263 cap as the extra 1% increases you chance to hit with spells alongside virulence (extra 3%) and with a shadow priest (Misery) or druid with Improved Faerie fire (another 3%) you can get to ~15% (only 2% of the spell hit cap which isn't too bad).

However do we really need another dps DK? - the likelihood is you won't get into many raids which I'm guessing someone who has your experience will have a problem with. We don't currently have a mainspec frost dps DK though...

Tough one, lets see what other officers think.

Raiding DK dps's = Vanyana, Adunahokor, Supawoman....raiding tanks = Trioxin, Tahoro, Finetex, (Vanyana)

I think we are covered with DK's, but the chance for all dk's online at same time.....well tbh it's fairly good lol

Thank you for your response so far. You're right Vanyana, I haven't considered Nerves of Cold Steel in my calculations.

Well, about my raiding chances: what I'm really after is ICC achievements (Frostbrood Vanquisher :Q_ ) and fun until Cataclysm, things I cannot hope to obtain in PUGs, and I'm in no hurry. Feel free to do whatever you want with my char, no harm done if you decline, of course.

if the lad can accept not being first pick for raids there will always be the odd night we are short and there is usually something happening at the weekend, heroic modes, achievement runs etc.

He may be able to enjoy the social aspect of the guild

Sure, playing as a reserve seems reasonable enough, after all you're full on DKs and I realize it would be a rare exception to invite someone you don't need.
