Now some of you have gotten your Accounts hacked, and some have gotten extra security(i have)

Antivirus does not help if you ok the download, or a trusted program downloads an "update".

The only defence you have against keyloggers are randomly generated passwords from a token/program NOT on pc.

So we managed to get Deathbringer Saurfang down with just a day to go before the next section of Icecrown Citadel is due to open!

Congratulations to everyone involved in the kill, which also earned us the achievement "I''ve gone and Made a Mess".

Nobody died during the fight, and only one Mark of the Fallen Champion was cast!

Fantastic work! Now onwards to Festergut, Rotface and Professor Putricide!

NORMAL RAIDING SCHEDULE TO RESUME: Wed 6th January 2010

The New Year is upon us! And with it, a renewed effort to make progress in a new raid instance!

Having already made it through to Saurfang on Icecrown Citadel 10-Man, the guild will be looking to ramp up the raid schedule to Epic proportions, giving 10 and 25-Man raids against the Lich King top billing on the calendar!

To support the gearing up of people for Icecrown Citadel, we will continue 25-Man raids into the Crusaders Colliseum, so we can continue to use those Trophies to good effect. We will also be seeking out Frost badges where-ever they are to be found. Because of this, the weekly raid quest will always be a priority for us to run.

The next wing of Icecrown is due to open any day now... And All Nuke Skull will be doing everything it can to be there! And if we need additional people to make this work (people who enjoy raiding and are as committed as our regular raiders are!) then that is what we will do!

Keep your eyes and ears open... Keep up to date on tactics and strategy that can be used to defeat these new encounters.... Normal raiding will resume on Wednesday 6th January 2010.

25-Man Trial of the Crusader

For the second week in a row we have cleared through to the big bad bug, Anub'Arak. Twins proved to be the only hiccup, with everything else One-Shot without problem. Hoping the bug will die on Sunday.

Onyxia's Lair

First time we've been as a guild I think, and the dragon-biatch went down fairly quickly and easily (once people were told not to enter the Whelp cave for a giggle). Good fun was had by all.

Ulduar

25-Man Ulduar is off the schedule at the moment, but there is a 10-Man happening every Tuesday. Next boss up is Mimiron, with the General and Yogg-Saron back on the agenda.

Gratz to everyone involved, and keep up the good work! Remember the background downloader has started on the pre-patch content, so Icecrown can't be toooo far away now!

10-Man Trial is not a trial

So the following week a new group of raiders went into the Trial and cleared the lot in a single sitting. One-shotting most of the encounters without breaking a sweat.

Nice one guys! So when do we start on the Trial of the Grand Champion?

Anub'arak Downed

Last night we completed the task of clearing the Trial of the Crusader by downing the Nerubian Lord Anub'arak.

Obviously Azjol-Nerub was just a set-back....

The fight itself was fairly easy to execute, and he went down in two attempts. We might have lost the majority of people including both tanks(!) during phase 3, but a kill is a kill, right??! :)

So, congratulations to everyone involved in clearing the Trial. It was a very smooth run including a trouble-free one-shot of the dreaded Faction Champs!

Maybe now we can follow this up with repeated clears, getting the whole place (and the tasty loot and badges) on farm, so we can concentrate on finally getting Yogg-Saron down in Ulduar!

Guild Bank Hacked

Someone targetted our guild this week with a nasty bit of "social engineering".

Basically alot of our members received an in game email that looked like it came from one of our officers. It was clever because they substituted the letter "i" with the letter "í" in the account name (notice the accent).

It said something along he lines of "Hey my brothers, this is a publicity video about our guild. Everyone can go and watch it and give me some advice!" and was followed by a link which unfortunately went to an executable file... A key logging trojan.

Unfortunately before we could warn everyone, one of our officers (who wasn't as sharp eyed as the rest of us) went to the destination of the link, and his PC was compromised.

Early on Tuesday morning someone logged onto his account, cleared out a massive amount of abyss crystals and other tasty items from the guild bank, empied his own bank, traded all his badges, etc.

To add insult to injury, he then mass mailed the guild again with the dodgy link, this time the source of the mail message was of course an actual member!

Luckily some eagle eyes guildies spotted what was going on and did their best to stop it. The GM's have been informed and will do what they can. The officer in question has since virus scanned his PC and had the offending trojan removed. We have a large hole in the gbank, but otherwise life goes on and the Heroic Raids continued tonight as normal...

So be warned! Be aware that .EXE files posted on external websites have the potential to be Keyloggers or other nasty software. Videos posted should always be hosted with a reputable website like YouTube and will never be in the form of a .EXE file. If in doubt, ask an officer or post in our forums before you follow a link or download anything that may look suspicious.
